ActivEdge Conferencing
Iperia ActivEdge Conferencing* is targeted at service providers that host the platform then resell the services to enterprises and residences that require audio conferencing capabilities.
The ActivEdge Conferencing is an unattended service, reducing the need for operators and allowing the service provider to offer customers conferencing capabilities with lower operational costs. System resources are maximized, as a scheduled conference does not reserve resources until a participant actually joins the conference. This allows service providers to maintain higher-levels of utilization on their platform, significantly improving the Return On Investment (ROI).
ActivEdge Conferencing fully integrates with, and makes use of, other Iperia applications such as ActivEdge Address Book and ActivEdge Voicemail. It seamlessly integrates with the existing user interfaces (telephone and subscriber GUI interfaces) to provide subscribers with a consistent behavior and 'feel' throughout the session.
The Conferencing application is built around the same open, standards-based architecture of the ActivEdge platform allowing the service to leverage the same hardware and software infrastructure (such as Media Servers), improving utilization on these resources, and reducing the need for additional capital investment to deploy additional services.
The ActivEdge Conferencing application will provide the ability to perform simple PBX-like conferencing, originate instant conferences by dialing out to participants, and schedule a conference for future dial-in by participants. Other features include notifications in advance of a scheduled conference, and web and telephone interfaces for host controls.
