Iperia Announces IperiaVX on IBM’s Platform

Iperia uses IBM’s WebSphere Application Server running on IBM BladeCenter technology to capitalize on SOA as a differentiating deployment platform for the IperiaVX solution.

North Billerica, Mass., December 6, 2006 – Iperia, Inc., a leader in unified communications solutions, today announced that it will incorporate IBM’s WebSphere Application Server (WAS) leveraging its converged HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP)/Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) container into its IperiaVX platform, an enterprise-class unified communications solution. IBM’s WebSphere Application Server with its SIP servlet and portlet capabilities allows Iperia to offer applications with enhanced voice and messaging features and the ability to easily integrate into existing environments via web services. The IperiaVX platform will allow global enterprises and service providers to offer new and exciting services that enhance user productivity by providing a variety of capabilities required to communicate and work more efficiently. In addition, the IperiaVX platform utilizing WebSphere’s HTTP and SIP proxies will enable enriched, blended communication services within an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) framework.

By integrating WebSphere Application Server into the IperiaVX platform, Iperia will capitalize on several key attributes. WebSphere Application Server V6.1 supports SIP servlets, offering standardized support for interactive user sessions that involve real-time multimedia elements such as voice, video, and instant messaging. Tightly coupling these features of WebSphere and IBM’s BladeCenter technology with Iperia’s carrier-grade unified communications products, we are able to offer a feature-rich, scalable, high-availability platform that results in a cost-effective solution for our enterprise and service provider customers. IperiaVX takes full advantage of IBM’s Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach, allowing Iperia to offer both enterprise and service providers a service application framework of enablers for building customized blended communication services.

IperiaVX is a voice-enabled platform specifically designed to meet the communications requirements of enterprises and service providers by supplying the tools to easily integrate new and existing applications within a single voice-enabled framework. Core components include voice messaging, auto-attendant, conferencing, fax messaging and unified communications. In addition, IperiaVX offers a development platform that facilitates tight integration between its unified communication functionality and SOA, while leveraging a JSR 168 portal platform with additional web services.

“Our technical collaboration with IBM will enable Iperia to provide our customers with real, sustainable value,” says David Jodoin, CEO for Iperia. “Equally important, it affords us – and our customers – the knowledge that the WebSphere platform is a proven middleware software and development platform for which many of our customers are already familiar.”
