Job Positions
Sales Engineer – Western Region
Position Overview:
The Sales Engineer is an integral member of a team that is responsible for supporting pre-sales technical activities for Iperia’s ActivEdge and VX unified communications software platforms. The Sales Engineer interacts directly with customer accounts and support representatives throughout the sales process, and identifies key customer requirements and presents Iperia’s solutions that meet those requirements.Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide initial technical product overview to new customer accounts
- Answer RFP's and provide written responses to customer specific technical requirements
- Establish key business and technical relationships in each account
- Work with customer product management and marketing groups
- Correspond with customer engineering, operations and network planning groups
- Identify decision makers, and understand the key product selection criteria
- Track and prioritize technical activities and milestones throughout the sales process
- Track and report all major account events and issues
- Manage all pre-sales technical action items
- Manage product evaluations, trials and demonstrations
- Work closely with account representatives to help close business
- Work with Iperia Product Management to define future direction of product line.
Skill, Education and Position Requirements:
- Strong telecommunications background
- VoIP systems exposure, with knowledge of some of the following: SIP, MGCP, RTP, HTTP/S, SMTP, SNMP, SMDI.
- Working knowledge of the Sun Solaris and Linux Systems
- Exposure to Some of the following: Linux, Java, C++, and PERL
- Knowledge of Web Servers, IP Networks, and PSTN interfaces
- Understanding of SOA Architecture, Portlet and Web Services concepts
- This job will require 45% travel.

Product Manager
Position Overview:
The Product Manager is responsible for product requirements, product roadmap, and product rollout. This person works closely with the engineering project teams, product marketing, and sales to develop a product strategy in response to market needs. This role has responsibility for our unified communications products - covering all aspects of our VoIP, voice, and messaging solutions.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities
Product releases are characterized by a Marketing Requirements Document which lays out the features, functions, performance, and reliability goals of a new product or release. Upon initial development of this document, the Product Manager must refine these requirements, ensure that they are correct, and coordinate with the engineering team on the functional specification and overall project plan. Another critical part of the Product Manager's role is to anticipate the various implications of the new capabilities and to ensure that the other groups have created the right processes and policies to make for a smooth transition when new products are rolled out.
The successful candidate must have direct experience with IP telephony and legacy voice technology, either at a vendor of voice equipment, service provider or enterprise consumer of VoIP products. Knowledge of both enterprise and Service Provider voice solutions a strong plus. Knowledge of VoIP technologies is essential.
Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of 5+ years in Product Management, Technical product marketing

Professional Services Engineer
Position Overview:
The Professional services Engineer will be responsible for providing pre and post sale services and support for IPeria’s customers. This position requires strong technical and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to independently design, code, and test custom features based on customer requirements and create estimates for deliverables for new and existing business. Participate in efforts to determine the integration of the developed systems.Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and development of customized web-based GUI and Telephone User Interfaces and other application development as needs arise based on customer requirements.
- Project planning for custom development efforts.
- Participate in and document client requirements discussions, often on-site at client's location.
- Create detailed design documents, and review designs of the team.
- Ensure that quality assurance test plans and process provide complete project coverage.
- Develop code and unit test software.
- Provide technical and functional training to software integration partners and Clients.
Skill, Education and Position Requirements:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience plus 2+ years of experience in a professional services environment (or equivalent) deploying web applications.
- Working knowledge of the Sun Solaris and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of Web servers, VoIP Networks and PSTN interfaces.
- Strong Java programming skills and substantial experience with JSP/Servlet/Portlet technology.
- Knowledge of JSR-000168, Java, XML, VoiceXML, IMAP, JNDI, JMS, SIP, Unified Messaging
- This job will require 10% travel.
Customer Support Engineer
Position Overview:
Iperia's Customer Support Engineers are part of a team that is responsible for supporting pre and post sales technical activities for Iperia - ActivEdge enhanced network communications software platform and IperiaVX service creation platform. They will diagnose, document, and work with customers and developers to resolve, test and deploy systems and software upgrades, create and review documentation, and be available on-call.Primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- Interface directly with customers technical teams.
- Receive customer inputs, diagnose, document, and reproduce any issues that arise.
- Perform software upgrades.
- Create and review documentation.
Skill, Education and Position Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience working directly with customers.
- Experience with Solaris and Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of general network (LAN/WAN) functionality.
- VoIP (SIP) experience is highly desirable.
- Exposure to Some of the following: Web Services, Java, C++, and PERL
- Knowledge of Web Servers and IP Networks.
