ActivEdge Personal Address Book
ActivEdge Personal Address Book offers a set of powerful functionality that allows service providers to expand its current offering of enhanced services to create additional revenue-generating features. The Address Book service leverages the existing, open and modular infrastructure of ActivEdge and can be provisioned as a stand-alone service or be the perfect complement to a ActivEdge Voicemail or ActivEdge Unified Messaging solution.
The ActivEdge subscriber GUI allows each subscriber to administer their own Address Book. Subscribers can create and edit individual contacts and distribution lists. Using the ActivEdge telephone interface, subscribers can dial, send, forward and reply to members of the Address Book. The subscriber GUI is written using the ActivEdge API and can be extended to combine additional features such as click-to-dial, find me and VIP lists into one web-based portal.
A subscriber can store the name, nickname, phone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses with each contact entry. The administrator can limit the number of contacts and distribution lists each subscriber may create. For flexibility, subscribers may also import and export contacts into the ActivEdge GUI using a comma separated value (CSV) file generated using many of the leading contact management applications including Microsoft Outlook.
The ActivEdge telephone user interface provides access to the Address Book and presents the caller with the option to telephone anyone in his or her Personal Address Book. Subscribers search for a contact by entering the first few letters of the contact's last name or nickname using the letters on the telephone keypad and then selecting the phone number to dial (home, work, or mobile). Once a match is found, subscribers get connected directly to that contact's phone and once the call is complete, can be returned back to the mailbox. Voice-activated dialing is an exciting extension to the ActivEdge Address Book dial-a-contact feature. The service provider can leverage the ActivEdge infrastructure to extend the Personal Address Book service using speech recognition technology to provide this additional revenue-generating functionality.
